TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
I, John Alan Legette, am currently the legal tenant of The Rosemont vacation rental located at 431 E. 2nd Street, Florence, CO 81226, with exclusive rental rights through March 28, 2026, 10:00 AM checkout.
I am making this declaration to document the following:
WE ARE NOT LEAVING VOLUNTARILY BEFORE MARCH 28, 2026
My wife and I intend to peacefully occupy this property through our paid checkout date of March 28, 2026. We are making this declaration because we have reasonable belief that multiple parties are conspiring to forcibly and illegally remove us from these premises before our checkout date.
WE POSE NO THREAT
- We are not armed
- We pose no threat to any person or property
- We have broken no rules of the rental agreement
- We have violated no laws
- We have violated no Airbnb policies
- There is no legal basis for our removal before March 28, 2026
WHAT TRIGGERED THIS CONSPIRACY
The only action we took that appears to have triggered this coordinated harassment campaign is that I publicly announced we are the first Black guests at The Rosemont in its 139-year history.
Following this announcement, a pattern of harassment, obstruction, and intimidation began.
ILLEGAL ENTRY AND LOCKBOX INSTALLATION - MARCH 17, 2026
Discovery: Morning of March 17, 2026 (installed during overnight hours of March 16-17, 2026)
What was installed: A real estate lockbox was attached to an undisclosed external staircase that provides direct access to the second floor where the vacation rental entrance is located.
Location: The staircase is accessible from the rear of the property through:
- First gate attached to on-property security station in rear (no lock)
- Second gate leading to the part of property where main house is located (no lock)
- External staircase leading to second floor (now has unauthorized lockbox)
Why this is preparation for illegal entry:
- This lockbox was NOT present at check-in (February 27, 2026)
- It was installed without notice, permission, or disclosure
- It provides secret access to the rental property
- The staircase was never disclosed in the listing
- Anyone can now access the property through unsecured gates and use lockbox keys to enter our rental
This constitutes preparation for unauthorized entry and forced eviction.

ANTICIPATED ILLEGAL ACTIONS
Based on the lockbox installation and pattern of coordinated harassment, I anticipate illegal breach of these premises occurring as early as tonight, March 18, 2026, through March 28, 2026.
Possible scenarios:
- Forced entry through lockbox-equipped staircase
- Claim of "emergency" to justify unauthorized entry
- False police report to justify forced removal
- Coordinated action by property management, police, and other parties
